Terrassa
This is an urban project for the transformation of the old AEG factory in the city of Terrassa. It was originally located in periphery zone of the city along the rail, now the site is absorbed by the city, but with insufficient connectivity.
The project aims to transform this industrial enclave into a pivotal place in the city, revitalize existing residential area on both sides of the railroad, and create links to the city center.
The structural and strategic importance of this sector of Terrassa has led us to design it as a new central sector and develop appropriate standard to regulate the gradual urban transformation.
The project is structured around a central linear park, so it will bring additional quality to new housing, and will also help to re-evaluate existing neighborhoods, which will find a new reference in the Northeast area of Terrassa.
The shapes of buildings are also based on the consideration of residential quality: high towers and open blocks facing public space. Housing typologies allow the majority of housing units to benefit from a double orientation. Intervention on the alignment of the tallest buildings reduces visual impact on existing streets and guarantees good insolation.
